Checklist questions, answered

What is the Equestrian Purity Test?
It's a 50-item checklist for the horse community that measures how far down the “barn rat” rabbit hole you've gone. Inspired by classic internet purity tests, it tracks the funny, messy, and financially questionable experiences every real horse person shares — from falling off at the walk to doing your life math around a feed schedule.
What's the average score on this horse person quiz?
A 0–15 makes you Barn Curious (your savings account is still safe), while most active riders land between 31 and 42, earning the title of Barn Gremlin. Score 43 or more and you enter the Beyond Help tier — at that point you probably spend more on your horse's wardrobe than your own.
Does a higher score mean I'm a better rider?
Not at all — this isn't an equitation test, it's a badge of honor for horse obsession. It measures how much hay is permanently embedded in your car, how many times you've panicked at a missed call from the barn manager, and your overall dedication to the lifestyle. A beginner lease rider can easily outscore a Grand Prix professional who doesn't muck their own stalls.
How do I share my score card with barn friends?
When you finish, the share button copies a link that carries your score and title, or you can download a square score card image made for Instagram, TikTok, or group chats. Friends who open your link see your score as a challenge to beat — and can run their own list immediately.
Is my score or data saved anywhere?
No. The checklist runs entirely in your browser — no account, no answers stored, nothing sent to a server. The only thing in a share link is the final number, so your results stay private until you choose to challenge your barn mates.

Want a second opinion on how horsey you are?

The checklist is your side of the story. Our quiz asks the only witness who was there for all of it: the horse.
